Aditi Desai, President of the British Society of Dental Sleep Medicine, consults from London Bridge Hospital and HarleyStreet in London, limiting her practice to the management of patients suffering with snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea.
A restorative dentist with 39 years in practice, Aditi graduated from the University of Wales with a Bachelor in Dental sciences in 1977 and gained a Master of Science in Conservative Dentistry from the University of London.
Following a number of hospital roles and general practice, Aditi was invited to set up and run an in-house practice at the BBC in London.
After 13 successful years, she left to join a private multispecialty practice in Harley Street where she established a dedicated Dental Sleep Medicine Service. In 2013, Aditi founded Global Sleep Solutions, which works within a multidisciplinary team to raise the awareness of sleep disorders, educate the public of the causes and consequences and provide access to treatment.
By virtue of her passion for dentistry and sleep medicine, Aditi serves on the Odontological Council and Sleep Medicine Council of the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM).
She is an invited speaker at the RSM, the Royal College of Surgeons of England, the British Sleep Society, the British Dental Association and many other organisations. She has published several articles in dental journals on dental sleep medicine and lectures on the subject in the UK and internationally.
